Missouri Department of Agriculture Strategic Plan states:
"We believe that whenever feasible, agriculture should rely on voluntary, market-based approaches rather than government regulation."

National Independent Consumers and Farmer Association

Missouri Independent Consumers and Farmers Association (MOICFA)

MOICFA is: a coalition representing all of Missouri independent consumers and farmers united in a common mission and purpose:

*To promote and preserve unregulated direct farmer-to-consumer trade that fosters availability of locally grown or home-produced food products.

*To oppose any government funded or managed National Animal Identification System.

MOICFA is Pro-Consumer ~ Pro-Farmer ~ Pro-Freedom ~ Anti-NAIS.

Do you believe that you, as a consumer, have the right to know what is in your food and what was used to produce it?

Do you believe that you have the right to choose the food that you and your family consume?

Do you believe that you have the right to farm and produce the food that can sustain your family, friends and community?

So do we!

And because of our beliefs, we gladly accept the responsibility to represent our fellow Missouri consumers and farmers in these rights. To find out more about our organization or to offer suggestions on how we may support you, please send an email to jim@moicfa.org.

The EPA is considering regulations to tax farmers for owning livestock, $20.00 per hog; $87.50 per beef cow, and $175.00 per dairy cow. This would, of course, drive most small to medium farmers out of business.
